Parents Association

Scoil Naomh Pádraig has a very active Parents Association. All parents in the school are members of the Association, and are welcome to join the committee at anytime. The committee are there to arrange a variety of events for both adults and children, while keeping the fun in fundraising. The committee meets once a month, currently on Zoom. The meetings last no more than an hour and it’s a great way for parents to meet other parents while giving something back to the school.

Some of our regular events include the Halloween Cake Sale, School Disco, Fundraising Walks and we use our contacts in the North Pole to make sure Santa makes a flying visit to the school just before Christmas. We also have ongoing fundraising projects such as ‘Pennies for Projects’ – collecting copper coins and our monthly 350 prize draw.

The primary role of the Parents Association is to fund-raise for the school. All monies raised are used in the school and some of the things we have paid for in recent years include, new microphones for the sound system, painted the whole school, resurfaced one of the playgrounds and PE equipment. We also organise fun dress up days such as Love in the Hair and jersey day.

Our other role is one of consultation with the Principal and Board of Management on various issues, for example reviewing school policies on behalf of the parents or choosing the new tracksuits for the school!

If you would like to take a more active role, we always love to welcome new members – you can get as involved as you like – be on the committee, volunteer to help at our events, donate a prize, or just make a suggestion. All participation is very welcome, and your child will benefit.
