PARTNERSHIPS
Partnerships within and outside the school are an important aspect of the Active School Flag.
Here in SNP, we established our own ASF committee at the outset of the process. Children who were interested in joining were elected at each class level. The committee members keep all classes up to date on ASF news and events. For example, certain children were in charge of the P.E storeroom and sports equipment, other members were in charge of communicating messages and others were instrumental when planning events. Our school has an ASF notice board.
SNP also acknowledges physical activity and sporting success achieved during and outside of school hours through an " Active Wonder Wall"..
We inform pupils and parents about physical activity opportunities that are available in the local community.
Our school invites different sports clubs/physical activity providers from the local community to visit our school during the year, to give taster sessions of their activity.
Here is a list of the different sports clubs/physical activity providers that we have been working with over the last number of years:
Cumann na mBunscol leagues and Santry Sports.
Ballyboden St. Endas GAA club
My Health Matters Fitness
Leinster Cricket.
Leinster Rugby
South Dublin Co. Council Cross Country events.
Tug-O-War Ireland
Zumba
Pearse Bros Athletics
Water Safety Ireland (PAWS Programme)
Our school completed a whole school survey on What Club are you in? Soccer, Basketball, GAA, Golf, Ballet, Gymnastics, Rugby, Athletics and Dancing were only some of the many clubs of which the pupils of Scoil Naomh Padraig are members.
