Scoil Naomh Pádraig is one of the few local primary schools that offers a mixed school experience in the infant years.

Our teachers at infant level continue to foster a supportive environment where children learn to work collaboratively, manage emotions and develop positive relationships.

Our infant education program is built on the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme and the Aistear Curriculum by deepening and expanding our pupils’ early learning experiences. This ensures a coherent and effective transition into more formal schooling.

Seamless transition into boys’ school

Following completion of Junior and Senior Infants, the boys’ automatically transition into First Class in Ballyroan Boys’ School. Application forms are distributed to parents of boys in term 2 of Senior Infants for the following year.

The communication and coordination between our schools ensures that the boys experience a smooth transition, both academically and socially.

The staff of both schools are dedicated to the effort of supporting our boys at this time, while maintaining continuity in their education.

Every step is carefully planned for a seamless transition. These steps include familiarising our Senior Infant boys with their new environment, and mutual visits to BBNS and their welcoming staff, led by Ms. Kiernan (Principal).

Ongoing relationships

Rest assured, however, that whilst our boys ‘graduate’ from us after Senior Infants, we never really let them go!

We maintain close links with them as they progress through 1st to 6th Class. Both schools host joint events such as Céilís, there are class meet-ups in our school playground and shared invitations for school shows. And of course, one of our most special occasions is when our boys and girls reunite at the end of 6th Class for their Graduation Mass.

Being a past pupil of Scoil Naomh Padraig it was an easy decision to send my children to school there. When my son had finished his 2 junior years, he transitioned seamlessly into Ballyroan Boys, as there are strong links between the school. The boys thoroughly enjoy moving on and spreading their wings.

SNP is an amazing school, both for us and our 4 children have experienced the best of times there. It has a wonderful, inclusive and fun atmosphere with excellent curricular and extracurricular opportunities. There is mutual respect between teachers and pupils alike and the children are encouraged to be kind, compassionate and caring. My children have the best memories of all the wonderful friends, teachers and experiences.
Couldn’t recommend it enough!!

As a parent of a senior pupil and a past pupil boy, I have nothing but positive things to say about SNP! From the moment you step on site, you can feel the community vibes. You can rest assured that this school really knows your child and they are in the best care possible. I was a little concerned about the impact of the transition to BBNS for my son, but my concerns were unwarranted. The strong links between the schools are evident from early on and the transition from Senior Infants in SNP to First Class in BBNS is so natural when the time comes!

As a past pupil of SNP, I was delighted to be in the fortunate position to send all three of my children to the same school. My own memories of the school are of the warm welcome that always greeted me on arrival and the fun that followed during the day. It was a great foundation for the years that followed.
I am delighted to say that my kid’s experience has been the same, as they bounce into school every morning with a smile on their face.
