Upon graduating from 6th Class in Scoil Naomh Pádraig, our pupils move on to a variety of secondary schools. We ensure that our pupils are as prepared as they can be for the new chapter ahead. We support our pupils’ understanding of what is expected of them in secondary school, to be prepared for the the level and style of work, and to be challenged to build on progress at primary school.

To support the transition to secondary school, we ensure a comprehensive handover by continuously fostering our links with these schools and ensuring open channels of communication with the relevant staff there. Prior to the completion of 6th Class, our class teachers and SET teachers will ensure any necessary paperwork is completed and forwarded.  They will also attend meetings with the relevant staff of the secondary schools (First Year Head, SET teachers, Principal) to share all necessary information.
