Registration for enrolment of children into Junior Infants for the following academic year takes place in October and November each year. An online registration form must be filled out. The link becomes available at the beginning of enrolment season (early October) and remains open for approximately 4 weeks. The completed registration form should be submitted to the school via the link on the website only. The exact closing date for applications and other dates pertaining to enrolment each year will be on the school’s Annual Admission Notice, which is available to view on our Policies page.
This notice will appear at least one week before the commencement of the admission process for the school year concerned.
Parents/guardians will be contacted regarding applications within 21 days of the closing date for applications.
Children must have reached their fourth birthday before 1st September of enrolment year. However, we would encourage parents to consider carefully whether their child at four years is ready or not for formal school and recommend that a child be closer to five years than four years on the 1st of September of the enrolment year in primary school. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss this with us.
In April/May before starting school, parents/guardians are invited to an evening Information Meeting where we highlight everything that you will need to know!
In late August (the day before the beginning of Term 1), the new infants are invited in to meet their teacher and to visit their classroom. We love to welcome in our new pupils and it is a great opportunity for them to prepare for the first day at ‘big school’.
